WordPress 2.9 ya esta disponible en Ingles | Caracteristicas y funciones nuevas

Al parecer WordPress no pudo soportar más, el regalarnos en estas fechas la versión del CMS más esperado para estas fechas. Hoy 19 de diciembre del 2009, llega la versión 2.9 en Ingles, para WordPress.

Actualiza tan pronto como puedas, a la nueva versión. WordPress 2.9

Aquí la lista de cambios y novedades más esperadas en esta versión

Papelera de Reciclaje Universal – Si accidentalmente borran un post, un comentario o una página, es posible traerla de regreso de la papelera y recuperarla
Un Editor de Imágenes - Ahora WordPress incluye un editor de imágenes que (por fin!) permite cortar, rotar, cambiar de tamaño, entre otras cosas
Insertar videos en Posts - Basta con pegar la dirección de un video en YouTube, Daily Motion, Blip.tv, Flickr, Qik, Viddler y muchos otros servicios más, para que WordPress automáticamente lo convierta en video.
Actualización de Plugins en masa- Basta con seleccionar hasta 10 plugins, y actualizarlos de golpe.

Introducing WordPress 2.9 (jazzer name) a release focused on making publishing and managing your content more intuitive than it’s ever been. In addition to some all important bug-squashing and heavy-duty improvements in the general media architecture, 2.9 brings several new features into play.

With the importance of Plugins in the world of WordPress, it made sense to make the process of checking plugin compatability and updating your plugins as easy as possible. So now you can upgrade all of your plugins all at once from the Upgrade menu, and WordPress will automatically check to make sure that they’re compatible with the current version you’re running.

Media has also been given some attention. Images now feel more at home in the publishing process, thanks to the integration of image editing.

For example, you’ll now find a built in image editor welcoming you as soon as you’ve uploaded a picture. To edit your images later, head to your media library, choose the image you want to change, and click on the new "Edit Image" button. There’s a crop tool… which you can also set the aspect ratio for… in addition to image rotation, and horizontal and vertical image flipping.

Media embedding has also undergone a major makeover. Support for the oEmbed standard makes copying and pasting video URLs right into your post super-simple.

Now all you need to do is paste the URL onto a line of its own… a nd you’re good to go.

By default you’ll find that there’s support for YouTube, Daily Motion, Blip.tv, Flickr, Hulu, Viddler, Qik, Revision3, Scribd, Google Video, Photobucket, PollDaddy, & WordPress.tv, with more on the way.

With the new Trash feature, you can say goodbye to trigger-finger regrets when you delete a post, comment or page. Because now instead of "delete", you’ll see the word "Trash". Trashing a post, page or comment moves it to your WordPress trashcan, where it’ll remain for the next 30 days. So if you suddenly change your mind, or find that you made a mistake, WordPress now has you covered. Just head to the new Trash tab and you can restore or permanently delete the content.

Of course there’s plenty of new stuff going on behind the scenes in 2.9, including automatically repairing database tables to keep things optimized for you, comment metadata, custom fields in the contact area, and a lot more features and fixes besides.

So that’s WordPress 2.9 (jazzer name), making blogging more flexible and streamlined than it’s ever been.

Mostrar publicidad según el autor del post en WordPress

Un problema en el que nos vimos Isaac y yo a la hora de juntarnos para hacer a este blog mucho más grande de lo que es era como íbamos a hacer para que en el post de cada uno salieran los bloques de publicidad de cada uno.

Primeramente probamos con un plugin, Ad Manager, pero ciertamente era un poco engorros de utilizar además de que nos apretaba un poco las manos a la hora de usarlo por lo que por msn hable con mi amigo KnxDT de Tecnología Diaria para preguntarle si conocía algún tipo de código que realizara esta función; él no conocía ninguna pero muy amablemente se ofreció a realizarla para que toda la comunidad pudiéramos gozar de esta función que será de mucha ayuda en los blogs que escriba más de una persona.

El resultado de todo esto fue este código que el mismo nos expone en su blog (Mostrar publicidad dependiendo del autor):

Este código lo deberán de poner en la plantilla, donde quieran que aparezcan los bloques de anuncios en su blog de WordPress, como en este blog que están puestos debajo del titulo del post.

El primer case hace referencia al admin del blog que sería el primer autor del blog, otroautor seria el segundo autor y esto lo debemos de cambiar por el nombre de usuario del segundo redactor y el case default esta por si ninguna de las dos primeras condiciones se cumple se muestra el anuncio default.

Para añadir a más autores solo deberíamos de añadir más opciones de case, que mas o menos te recomendamos que no pasen de 6 ya que sobrecargaría un poco la carga del blog.

Un código excelente que seguramente tenemos que tener a mano todos porque no sabemos cuando queremos mostrar cosas dependiendo de que usuario crea el post, como puede ser mostrar algún tipo de texto al final del post dependiendo del autor.

Fue anteayer que recientemente se encontraron problemas con la seguridad, de los que usamos WordPress, que permirían, bloquear a nuestro servidor y dejarlo sin funcionar, por varios minutos.

Al parecer horas despúes, WordPress ya estaría solucionando aquellos bugs, y de paso adelantando algunas pequeñisimas mejoras, que estaban siendo preparadas para la versión WordPress 2.9, la que todos estamos esperando.

Como quién dice fué una actualización a la fuerza, ya que al parecer estariamos hablando de una gran vulnerabilidad, que según se asegura, dependería de la seguridad del servidor, en tal caso, si tu servidor es de una famosa empresa, puede que no hayas de ser vulnerable en tal caso, de cualquier manera, nada cuesta dar un clic en Por favor, actualiza tu sitio. verdad que no! algunas de cambios son:

Se eliminaron áreas dentro del código dentro de la función permalink_structure.
Se eliminaron algunas llamadas a create_function() que estaban duplicadas y cargan el sistema por demás.
Parche para evitar la denegación de servicio (DOS) usando trackbacks. (El bug que les mencionaba)
Ahora hay una lista blanca, que permitirá por medio de filtros, reducir, subidas no autorizadas. Se puede activar manualmente con define(’ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS’, true); en wp-config.php
Añadidas algunas secuencias de escape (formateo de cadenas de caracteres) para evitar errores.
Se eliminaron dos importadores antiguos de etiquetas. Uno de ellos es el antiguo fetch_rss().
Otros pequeños bugs.

WordPress recomienda esta actualización para que tu sitio, este con lo ultimo en mejoras para seguridad.
